This is the newest firmware Apple has released (but who wants normal Apple firmware right?) and the iPhone Dev-Team has already jailbroken the 3.1 firmware. Go to http://blog.iphone-dev.org/ to download pwnage tool for mac (yes, just mac for now) and create your custom IPSW firmware file for your iPhone or iPod Touch. Just a side note for 3G S owners, life is tough so you must jailbreak your iPhone 3.0 or 3.0.1 before you can jailbreak on 3.1, DO NOT upgrade using iTunes. When you acquire a custom firmware file, go on iTunes and hold shift when you click restore and find the custom firmware file to restore to it.
